4 religious soldiers refuse to visit Rabin’s grave, abandon base
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleFour soldiers in a religious platoon of the Artillery Brigade refused to pay respects at former prime minister Yitzhak Rabin’s grave during a unit visit to Mount Herzl earlier this week, the Kan Public Broadcaster reports.
The soldiers were warned that they would be punished for the behavior, shortly after which they abandoned their military base without warning their commanding officers.
The troops are expected to be penalized when they return, both for their actions at Mount Herzl, as well as for going MIA.
