Chief Sephardic rabbi calls on Israelis to avoid mass prayers at Western Wall
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleChief Sephardic Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef calls on Israelis to avoid praying in large groups at the Western Wall or synagogues following the Health Ministry’s ban on gatherings of over 100 people as part of efforts to combat the coronavirus.
“I want to clarify there is no Halachic instruction that supersedes Health Ministry orders,” Yosef writes in a letter. “The Halachic directive on this issue is to fully obey all Health Ministry orders without exception and every order issued by them is a Halahic order for all intents and purposes.”
