Culture minister: Argentina cancellation not BDS, it’s terrorism
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleCulture and Sport Minister Miri Regev lashes out in a press conference following Argentina’s decision to officially cancel a soccer match with Israel, insisting that the decision was a capitulation to “terror, not BDS.”
“The Argentinians did not object to having the game in Jerusalem,” says Regev. “Threats to Lionel Messi’s life overwhelmed the sport… It’s terror.”
Regev asserts that Messi had been the one to initiate the match out of interest in visiting the Western Wall ahead of the World Cup.
The minister also lambastes members of of the Joint (Arab) List as well as other left-wing lawmakers who she claimed had celebrated the cancellation.
