Haredi rioters smash front window of Shas lawmaker’s car as he leaves lesson

Ultra-Orthodox extremists smash the front window of Shas MK Yoav Ben-Tzur’s vehicle as he leaves a weekly lesson in Jerusalem, footage shows.

The rioters appear to have targeted the lawmaker over his party’s apparent backing of the coalition’s Haredi conscription bill.

In a statement, Shas slams the “handful of rioters” that attacked the lawmaker’s vehicle.

“Violent actions like this, which desecrate God, are not the path of the Torah, and do not represent any God-fearing community,” the party says in a statement.
