In Detroit, Trump reiterates call for Iranians to keep protesting against the regime

US President Donald Trump reiterates his call for Iranians to keep protesting, take over their institutions and save the names of those cracking down against them.
Trump makes the remarks in a speech in Detroit that is largely focused on the economy.
He first made the call in a Truth Social post earlier today.
Trump, in the Detroit speech, says he has been receiving varying numbers of how many protesters have been killed, “But I say save their names because they’ll pay a very big price.”
“I’ve canceled all meetings with Iranian officials until the senseless killing of protesters stops,” Trump says, repeating his announcement from the Truth Social post, again telling protesters, “help is on its way.”
He recalls his announcement from yesterday that he slapped a 25% tariff on any country doing business with Iran. It’s unclear how the directive will be implemented.
“Make Iran great again. It was a great country until these monsters came in and took it over, and [now] it’s all very fragile. [It] would have happened to us if I didn’t win this election,” Trump claims.
Asked by a reporter before his speech whether the US has advised allies to evacuate Iran, Trump responds, “They should get out. It’s a good idea.”
