Interior Ministry speeds up shelter placement

Interior Minister Gideon Sa’ar tells heads of southern regional councils that he will allow mobile shelters to be built without the usual planning and approval processes, according to the ministry’s spokesperson’s office. The move will speed up their placement ahead of the start of the school year.

“Opening the school year is a national mission,” Sa’ar says. “We must do all we can to guarantee the safety of Israeli children in educational institutions across the country. This directive gives an immediate answer that will allow the regional councils to prepare for the upcoming school year.
