Israel stops Kenyan president visiting West Bank

Israel is preventing the Kenyan president from visiting the Palestinian Authority, Army Radio says. Uhuru Kenyatta is currently visiting Israel, and met yesterday with Benjamin Netanyahu.

Kenyatta’s camp is furious at the nixing of his plan to visit Ramallah and meet with Mahmoud Abbas.

The Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem says in response: “This is an important foreign visit that was planned long ago. The request to visit Ramallah was filed at the last minute and unfortunately there is no way to approve it.”
