Israel continues its public opposition to the current Board of Peace roadmap for disarming Hamas in Gaza.

“Israel will not withdraw from the current line in the Gaza Strip,” says an Israeli official, “and will continue to eliminate any threats to our citizens and our soldiers.”

Amid ongoing Israeli pushback to the plan, Board of Peace high representative to Gaza Nickolay Mladenov and senior adviser Aryeh Lightstone met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu today to press him to agree to stop military operations in Gaza, Axios reports.

The Board of Peace and unnamed US officials have expressed their frustration with Israel’s reticence, saying that Jerusalem was fully informed about the terms of the agreement for months.
