Northern mayor slams Netanyahu’s ‘out of touch statements’ amid continued rocket fire

David Azoulay, head of the Metula Regional Council on Israel’s border with Lebanon, slams Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, saying that continued rocket fire on the north has made a return to normal life impossible there.

“If you thought, following the prime minister’s declaration, that quiet has returned to the Middle East, tonight has (again) proven otherwise,” Azoulay writes, according to Israeli reports, referring to Netanyahu’s speech last night defending his government’s performance in the war with Iran.

Azoulay mentions a “series of [missile] interceptions” in the area and “nonstop sounds of explosions.”

He attaches a photo of interceptor fragments that he says fell in Israeli territory.

“There are the prime minister’s out-of-touch statements, and then there’s the reality of explosions and interceptor fragments,” he adds.

Earlier today, Israel intercepted Hezbollah fire on IDF positions in Lebanon, according to Hebrew media outlets.
