Opposition lawmaker to submit bill dissolving Knesset

An opposition lawmaker says he’ll submit a bill Monday that would dissolve the government and set fresh elections for June.

“I will submit a bill tomorrow morning for the dissolution of the Knesset and the holding of elections of June 26,” tweets Zionist Union MK Itzik Shmuli. “The time has come for another government.”

Shmuli says he’ll request the Knesset fast-track the bill so it can be passed within two days of its submission.

Shmuli’s tweet comes as the talk of elections continue to grow, with coalition parties increasingly at odds over legislation exempting ultra-Orthodox students from mandatory military service.
