Opposition leader calls for fresh elections as soon as possible
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleHead of the opposition Zionist Union party Avi Gabbay says he supports holding Knesset elections as soon as possible, as coalition infighting puts the government’s future in doubt.
“We’ll support moving up elections to an early as possible date because this is the best thing for the Israeli people and the State of Israel,” Gabbay says at a conference of the Israel Democracy Institute.
“After nine years of division and hate, the Israeli people can choose a new path and a new hope,” he adds.
