Troops opened fire on a Palestinian suspect who threw stones at them during an operation earlier today in the Jenin refugee camp in the West Bank, the IDF says.
According to the military, the suspect entered the area where troops were operating and threw stones at them.
“The troops initiated a suspect arrest procedure, during which they opened fire at the terrorist and neutralized him in order to remove the threat,” the military says.
The official Palestinian news agency WAFA identifies the man as Nasser Ali Kamel al-Saadi, 45.
According to WAFA, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society says it received al-Saadi’s body and transferred it to the Jenin Governmental Hospital.
There were no Israeli injuries.
