PM: Argentina decision could lead to similar cancellations in future
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GooglePrime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says that Argentina’s decision to back out of the soccer match with Israel could lead to similar such cancellations in the future.
“There is a possibility that they will exert pressure to cancel other events in various areas, and we will do what we think is right,” he told reporters.
The prime minister called the decision “disappointing and unfortunate.”
Netanyahu also defends Culture and Sport Minister Miri Regev, amid criticism of her handling of the event, saying her insistence that the match be held in Jerusalem was “natural.”
