The United States has known about the planned operation for at least a week, an Israeli official tells The Times of Israel.

Israel and the US are “continuously involved,” says the official.

The Americans are working to rebuild the regional coalition that confronted the previous Iranian attacks on Israel.

Israel expects some Iranian missiles to get through, says the official.

Shas leader Aryeh Deri was informed that the strike was going to happen, and that it is not the time to dissolve the government, the official adds.

The opposition leaders were not updated ahead of time.
