Palestinian Legislative Council member Riyadh al-Raddad, who represents Hamas in the Palestinian legislative body, was sentenced by an Israeli court to one year in prison, according to his family.
Al-Raddad, 55, was arrested during a protest supporting Palestinian prisoners, a relative told Ma’an News Agency.
Palestinian reports did not clarify the crimes or the specific court that reportedly sentenced al-Raddad.
Palestinian news agency WAFA reported in July that al-Raddad was arrested by the IDF, along with MP Fathi Qaraawi, in Tulkarm on July 14.
Since the June kidnapping and murder of three Israeli teenagers in the southern West Bank by a Hebron-based terror cell affiliated with Hamas, arrests of Hamas activists and leaders in the West Bank and East Jerusalem have risen sharply.
