About 160 rockets launched since morning, says IDF
Since the beginning of Operation Protective Edge this morning, about 160 rockets were launched at Israel — 116 of which hit Israel and 23 of which were intercepted, the IDF says, adding that one of the rockets was intercepted “over the Tel Aviv area.”
In response, the IDF and Shin Bet have targeted 150 terror-related sites across the Gaza Strip in over 100 strikes targeting five senior Hamas operatives, about 10 terror tunnels, 98 concealed rocket launchers, and 18 weapons manufacturing and storage facilities.
“Five of the weapon manufacturing facilities the IAF has targeted overnight were concealed within mosques. The Hamas’s modus operandi to operate terror from within civilian population and employ civilians as human shields may bear tragic consequences,” says IDF Spokesman Lt. Col. Peter Lerner
