Shortly after Israel hits targets in the Gaza Strip and kills a leader in Islamic Jihad’s armed wing, air raid sirens go off in the southern city of Beersheba and the surrounding towns and villages. At least one interception is reported.
According to IDF statistics, eight rockets were launched at Beersheba in the latest wave of 45 launches from the Gaza Strip. Four were intercepted and three hit.
In total since Tuesday afternoon, one rocket hit Hadera, 116 kilometers north of the Gaza Strip; two were intercepted over Tel Aviv; one hit Rishon LeZion and one was intercepted over it; four were launched at Jerusalem, three of which hit the city. In the south, eight rockets were launched at Beersheba, four of which were intercepted and three hit; 27 were launched at Ashdod, eight were intercepted and 17 hit; three were launched at Ashkelon, two were intercepted.
In the last 24 hours, an estimated 154 rockets were fired at Israel from the Gaza Strip, of which 117 exploded in Israeli territory and 29 were intercepted by Iron Dome.
