At least 40 Palestinians killed in Gaza, medics say
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleAt least 40 people were killed and nearly 400 wounded in Israeli shelling of Gaza’s northeastern Shejaiya district overnight, medics say on Sunday.
Emergency services spokesman Ashraf al-Qudra says 40 bodies had been retrieved from the neighborhood, and at least 380 people had been wounded in shelling that was still continuing.
A Palestinian cameraman and a paramedic were among the dozens killed, medics say.
“Cameraman Khaled Hammad and paramedic Fuad Jaber were killed in a strike on an ambulance, while they were trying to evacuate the wounded from Shejaiya,” al-Qudra tells AFP.
