Prime Minister Naftali Bennett last week offered rebel MK Nir Orbach from his Yamina faction to quit the Knesset and receive a role outside of politics, angering Orbach, the Makor Rishon news outlet reports.

The reported offer came during last week’s Bennett-Orbach meeting that preceded the latter’s announcement that he was no longer part of the coalition, but would give it some additional time before backing new elections.

The report says Orbach left the room in anger after Bennett made the proposal, protesting it as insufficient after years of partnership.

Bennett also reportedly asked Orbach to delay the Knesset’s dispersal until after US President Joe Biden’s visit next month. The report says Orbach said he would consider that request.
