The Board of Peace has yet to weigh in on this week’s deadly IDF strikes in Gaza, which have come immediately after its envoys met with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and urged him to only respond to threats deemed imminent.

The day after that meeting — which also included US special envoy Jared Kushner — Israel carried out a strike on a Gaza cafe, targeting a gathering of Hamas Nukhba fighters. Four of them were killed but so were two others, including a child.

One Tuesday, the IDF struck a Hamas police station, killing nine officers, including a 13-year-old girl.

The Board of Peace rarely comments on IDF strikes, but its Gaza envoy Nickolay Mladenov did so earlier this month, while being careful not to explicitly call out Israel, instead only lamenting the civilian casualties that the strikes have caused.

A Board of Peace spokesperson does not immediately respond to a request for comment.
