Court publishes name, photo of sex crimes suspect, in rare step

The Jerusalem Magistrate’s Court greenlights the publication of the name and photo of a suspected sex criminal, to enable more potential victims to come forward and press charges.

Ramzi Jaba, 25, an ultrasound technician from East Jerusalem, is suspected of using his position to commit indecent acts against a woman who came for a medical examination. Police suspect he may have harassed more clients, leading to the rare measure.

Jaba worked at a clinic run by health fund Meuhedet in the ultra-Orthodox settlement of Beitar Illit.

Jaba’s remand has been extended by three days.
