German FM warns of ‘spiral of violence’
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleGerman Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier warns that the rocket fire on Israel from Gaza and Israel’s airstrikes on the area threaten to develop into a “spiral of violence and counter-violence.”
Steinmeier says that Israel, “of course,” has the right to defend its citizens from rocket attacks, adding that he hopes that “both sides realize that a military confrontation that could spin out of control needs to be avoided.”
