Gorbenko finishes 5th, in best-ever result for Israeli swimmer in World Championship

Israeli swimmer Anastasia Gorbenko, 18, finishes fifth in the 200-meter individual medley in the World Championship final, the best result ever for an Israeli swimmer in any of the event’s races.

Gorbenko, who was considered a medal contender in the race, records a slower time than her semifinal, but still pushes past several competitors in the final stretch.
