‘Hamas never received official Egypt invitation’
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleHamas official Hussam Badran tells Hamas news website Al-Resalah that political bureau chief Khaled Mashaal never received an official invitation to to come to Egypt, but only “invitations through mediators.” Badran was refuting earlier reports that said Mashaal had refused Egypt’s invitation to discuss a ceasefire.
Badran adds, however, that Hamas will “never discuss the Egyptian initiative in its current formulation, or consider any initiative that does not comply with the demands of the resistance and express the minimal needs of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.”
