IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir toured the outskirts of Bint Jbeil in southern Lebanon earlier today, where the military has been battling Hezbollah operatives.
“Our main combat arena is here in Lebanon. The objective defined for you is the removal of the direct threat to the residents of the north, which you are carrying out with determination,” Zamir says to troops, according to remarks published by the army.
On Iran, Zamir says the “IDF’s achievements in the war against Iran are unprecedented and historic.”
“Iran before this war is not the same Iran; it is much weaker. We are prepared to return to combat with full force if required at any given moment,” he says.
The IDF says Zamir was joined by the chief of the Northern Command, Maj. Gen. Rafi Milo, Technological and Logistics Directorate chief, Maj. Gen. Rami Abudraham, and 98th Division commander Brig. Gen. Guy Levy.
Following the visit to Bint Jbeil, the IDF says Zamir approved new battle plans for the fighting against Hezbollah.
