IDF says Hamas tunnels like subway stations
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleThe IDF says it uncovered six “terror tunnels” today with different access points, including several inside Israeli territory.
The military also says that in cooperation with the Shin Bet, “the head of the Hamas observation alignment in the Gaza Strip” was also targeted.
IDF spokesperson Lt. Col. Peter Lerner says: “Since the beginning of the ground phase of the operation, the IDF has exposed 14 tunnels headed towards Israel, all intended to infiltrate Israel and carry out terror attacks. It’s like the ‘Underground,’ the ‘Metro’ or the ‘Subway.’ These tunnels are all connected. I would describe it as ‘Lower Gaza.'”
The army says it found a 15th Hamas tunnel dug under the Israeli border, near Moshav Netiv Ha’asara, through which Hamas had planned a terror attack on Israeli civilians.
