Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian says he met recently with Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei, state media reports, offering a first public account of him meeting Khamenei after the latter suffered severe wounds at the start of the US-Israeli war on Iran.
Khamenei has not been seen in public or in any video statements since he took on the role following the killing of his father in an Israeli airstrike in February.
The meeting was marked by a “humble and deeply cordial” atmosphere, Pezeshkian is reported as saying.
