Israelis stranded in Istanbul after airline refuses to fly to Tel Aviv
Over 100 Israeli passengers are stranded in Istanbul’s Gokçen Airport after the crew of a Pegasus Airlines flight bound for Tel Aviv refused to fly because of the security situation, Channel 2 reports.
“They told us that the Turkish crew refused to fly to Israel because of the situation, and this is while Turkish Airlines flights to Tel Aviv are taking off as usual,” Amit, a passenger from Flight 779 from Istanbul to Tel Aviv, told the news site.
Pegasus Airlines is a discount Turkish airline which started flying to Tel Aviv in 2012.
For the time being, the flight’s been pushed back to 6:00 a.m. and passengers are stranded at the airport on Istanbul’s outskirts.
