Liberman says Katz should be fired for primaries campaign video: ‘He needs to take a boom, boom to the head’

Yisrael Beytenu chairman Avigdor Liberman blasts Defense Minister Israel Katz over a video the latter posted for the upcoming Likud primaries, saying he should be fired for it.

The video shows a montage of Israeli strikes over the past few years of war, along with an upbeat song with the lyrics, “Israel Katz, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom” repeating over and over, and a post urging Likud members to vote for the defense minister.

The video was posted before the party announced that its secretariat will be asked to approve three additional reserved slots on the party’s electoral list, among them Katz.

“I would expect that the first statement this morning, after that stupid video that harms our efforts in the international arena, and also harms the IDF … is the firing of the defense minister,” Liberman tells 103FM.

Instead, the ruling party made the announcement on the reserved spots, he laments.

“I think he needs to take a ‘boom, boom’ to the head,” Liberman says, referencing the video.

“This is not a defense minister that is concerned with defense. This is a defense minister that works just for his primaries and for members of the Likud Central Committee. There is no concern for the security of the citizens of Israel,” he says.
