‘Meshaal ready to head to Cairo for talks’
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleSenior Hamas official Mousa Abu Marzouk says that Hamas political leader Khaled Meshaal is ready to discuss the Egyptian ceasefire proposal in Cairo.
“If Egypt invites Khaled Meshaal to visit Cairo to discuss the initiative, he would be ready to come tomorrow,” he tells a-Sharq al-Aqsat, Ynet reports.
Marzouk also says that his organization is not trying to sideline Egypt by turning to Turkey and Qatar. “There is no one in Hamas who can move away from Egypt or embarrass it.”
Marzouk also says that Hamas did not reject the Egyptian initiative, but asked for amendments that would help the Palestinian population.
