Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tells the families of the 13 fallen IDF soldiers killed in Gaza overnight that the “heart of the nation” is with them.
At a press conference, Netanyahu addresses the IDF soldiers currently fighting in Gaza, telling them the Israeli people are behind them and praying for their well-being.
“We are doing everything to secure the lives of our citizens and soldiers. Israel did not choose to launch this campaign. It was forced on us,” says Netanyahu.
The PM stresses that there is no guarantee of 100% success, but that the military is doing everything in its power to achieve as much as possible.
“The IDF is exceeding expectations” in Gaza, he says.
The PM promises to “restore quiet to the residents of the south and all our citizens. Every one of us knows at least one person involved in the military campaign. We must stand together, united and strong.”
Help us report truthfully on social media
As a multimedia journalist, my job is to take the quality, fact-based journalism produced by The Times of Israel newsroom and make it accessible across every platform — from Instagram posts to podcasts to short-form videos.
This is how many, especially young people, consume news these days. But misinformation is rampant on social media. Our team at ToI produces accurate, responsible short-form reporting on Israel and the Jewish world.
If you believe in the importance of factual social media journalism, please consider joining our reader support group, The Times of Israel Community. Your financial support is essential to sustain responsible multimedia reporting.
