Trump-supporting Zionist Organization of America calls emerging Iran deal ‘deeply problematic’

The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA), a US pro-Israel organization that is typically firmly supportive of US President Donald Trump, says the emerging deal with Iran is “deeply problematic.”

ZOA’s president, Morton Klein, says in a lengthy statement that the organization is “extremely grateful” to Trump for the US military action against Iran.

The statement says “the pending deal with Iran is concerning,” however, citing reported details that would allow Iran “massive oil revenue” and time to build up its military and terror infrastructure, while leaving the regime and its weaponry in place.

Reports that the deal will mandate a ceasefire in Lebanon are also “extremely concerning” and will embolden Iran and its proxies, Klein says.

“Disturbingly, the interim Iran deal does not appear to be even close to the US-Israel war goals of eliminating the existential dangers of Iran’s nuclear program and ballistic missiles, ending the Iranian regime’s support for its terror proxies, and helping the Iranian people overturn the brutal, genocidal Iranian regime,” Klein says. “The world will not be safe as long as Iran’s hateful genocidal regime exists.”
