Two more IDF soldiers were killed Saturday in two separate incidents, bringing the total number of soldiers killed since the outset of the current conflict to five.
On Saturday evening, a Hamas gunman emerged from a tunnel in southern Gaza and opened fire at IDF soldiers killing Sgt. Benya Rovel, 20, of Holon and injuring another. The soldiers returned fire, killing the gunman.
Earlier on Saturday, 21-year-old Second Lieutenant Bar Rahav, an IDF combat engineer from Ramat Yishai, was killed by an antitank missile fired at a paratrooper position.
On Saturday morning, two soldiers, including one officer, were killed during a Hamas raid in Ein Hashlosha near the Gaza Strip.
