UN chief urges Israel to ‘do far more’ to spare Gaza civilians

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon urges Israel to spare the lives of civilians in its military campaign in Gaza, where today’s Palestinian death toll passed 100, according to Gazan medical sources.

“Israel must do far more to protect civilians,” he tells a press conference in Doha, his first stop on a regional trip aimed at bringing an end to the fighting, which started on July 8.
