Hulu signs $160m deal to air ‘Seinfeld’
The show about nothing will be available to the digital service’s subscribers in June

The digital video service Hulu has cut a giant deal with Sony Pictures TV that will allow it to make all 180 episodes of the beloved NBC comedy “Seinfeld” available to subscribers.
At roughly $875,000 an episode, Hulu is expected to cough up nearly $160 million, to be split among distributor Sony TV, Time Warner’s Castle Rock and “Seinfeld” profit participants, including Jewish co-creators Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David, Variety reported.
Seinfeld joined company executives on stage of the Hulu Upfront Presentation in New York on Wednesday to make the announcement.
The ratings-breaking comedy will become available to Hulu subscribers starting June.

Both a critic and audience favorite, “Seinfeld” ran for nine seasons on NBC from 1989 to 1998.
Set predominantly in Manhattan’s Upper West Side, the show, said to be “about nothing,” starred Seinfeld as a fictionalized version of himself, and a handful of his friends and acquaintances.
