German submarine shipyard denies contact with David Shimron

The German shipyard set to supply Israel with three additional submarines denies it has had business dealings with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s lawyer David Shimron, according to Channel 10 news.

In a statement to the media outlet, ThyssenKrupp said it “has only been in contact with the relevant official government authorities,” regarding the multi-billion shekel deal to purchase the vessels.

According to a Channel 10 report earlier this week, David Shimron, who has spent years defending Netanyahu against dozens of claims of malpractice and misuse of office for personal gain, is being accused of a serious conflict of interest due to his links to the German shipbuilder attempting to sell the vessels to Israel.

Shimron has not denied he represented ThyssenKrupp but said there was no conflict of interest in his dealings.
