Iran tells neighbors self-defense was last resort after failed diplomacy
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleIranian President Masoud Pezeshkian says his regime pursued diplomacy to avoid war but was forced to defend itself after US and Israeli attacks.
“We respect your sovereignty,” Pezeshkian says on X in a message to neighboring countries and allies, “and believe the region’s security and stability has to be achieved through the collective efforts of its states.”
