A senior Israeli official acknowledges that Israel misjudged Hezbollah’s decision-making, after the terror group joined the fighting alongside Iran, Channel 13 reports.
“We were mistaken about Hezbollah – we didn’t think they would fire at these ranges,” the official is quoted as saying, after Hezbollah sent five rockets towards Israel’s center earlier today in an attack that concurred with the launch of a ballistic missile from Iran.
Most of Hezbollah’s rocket and drone attacks in recent days have targeted northern Israeli communities.
According to the report, the shift in Hezbollah’s posture is expected to be discussed in a security meeting convened by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu later tonight.
The discussion is set to include Defense Minister Israel Katz, National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar and senior security officials, but not the full security cabinet, which has reportedly met only once since the war began.
