Israel says failure to transfer hostage remains from Gaza ‘another violation’ of truce

After Palestinian Islamic Jihad fails to hand over the body of a hostage a day after the terror group announced it located one in central Gaza, Israel says it “takes a very grave view” of the delay, but does not threaten any specific action.

“In light of Islamic Jihad’s announcement on locating remains of a slain hostage,” says the Prime Minister’s Office, “Israel takes a very grave view of the delay in handing them over immediately.

“This constitutes another violation of the agreement,” it says. “Israel demands the immediate return of the three slain hostages whose bodies are still being held in the Gaza Strip.”

The bodies of two Israelis and one Thai national are still held in Gaza: Dror Or, Master Sgt. Ran Gvili and Sudthisak Rinthalak.

Terror groups have claimed difficulties in locating the bodies of the three.
