Jerusalem man charged over alleged spying activities for Iran, for which he received hundreds of dollars

A 21-year-old man from Jerusalem is charged with allegedly conducting spying activities for Iran at the end of 2025 and the beginning of 2026.

Eli Levon is accused of knowingly carrying out tasks for agents named “Sina” and “Alexander,” who acted on behalf of Iranian intelligence, in exchange for hundreds of dollars, according to an indictment filed by Jerusalem District prosecutors.

Levon took photographs of the Jerusalem Central Bus Station, a building in the Bukharim neighborhood, and hid a cigarette box in the Hadar Mall with a note that read, “The job is complete,” among other tasks.

Levon received approximately $861 in digital currencies from “Sina” and $518 from “Alexander” for his tasks, according to the indictment.

Levon is charged with contact with a foreign agent and providing information that could benefit an enemy.
