Merz says Syrian refugees have important role in rebuilding their home country

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz says Syrian refugees who found asylum in Germany have an important role to play in rebuilding their country and Berlin will help those that want to return.
“We are working together to ensure that Syrians living in Germany can return to their homeland,” Merz says in a press conference in Berlin with visiting Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa.
