Report: Guinness World Records no longer accepting submissions from Israel, Palestinian territories

An Israeli organization was recently informed by the Guinness World Records that it is not accepting submissions from Israel or the Palestinian territories, Channel 12 reports.

According to the report, the “Matnat Chaim” charity, which helps people make voluntary kidney donations, approached Guinness World Records to discuss an event it is planning, which will bring together 2,000 donors in one place in Jerusalem.

But the charity, which hoped to have a photo of the event entered into the next Guinness Book of World Records, was let down when the UK body informed it that it was no longer accepting submissions from Israel or the Palestinian territories of Gaza and the West Bank, Channel 12 reports.

Matnat Chaim president Rachel Heber tells Channel 12 that “Israel is leading the whole world in this wonderful revolution of mutual responsibility in altruistic kidney donations. The fact that Guinness refuses to include the Israeli achievement that astonished the entire medical world is unacceptable.”
