Syrian officials claimed to have captured Israeli espionage equipment deep inside the country Wednesday.

Authorities near the country’s coast were said to have found Israeli devices capable of wiretapping, photographing, recording and broadcasting data, according to a brief report in the regime-run Syrian Arab News Agency.

The report added that the devices were found after “monitoring and investigations.”

Israel had no immediate response.

Israel has been accused in the past of planting listening devices in Lebanon.

Also on Wednesday, five Lebanese nationals were charged with collaborating with Israel, Lebanese media reported.

The five are living in Palestinian territories and two of them have obtained Israeli citizenship, according to the report.
