In a sign that operations at the site are becoming more efficient, 47 people moved through the Rafah Crossing on the Egypt-Gaza border in each direction today, with 18 of those exiting the Strip needing medical treatment, the European Union oversight mission at the crossing tells The Times of Israel. Each patient who crosses is allowed to bring up to two family members with them.
According to the Egypt-Israel agreement on the crossing, a maximum of 50 Gazans are allowed to go through in each direction daily.
A total of 932 Gazans have transited through the crossing since it opened for traffic in both directions on February 2, with 463 leaving Gaza and 469 entering.
