Far-right lawmaker films himself smashing sign of PA-backed school in East Jerusalem

Religious Zionism MK Zvi Sukkot, who chairs the Knesset’s Education Committee, films himself smashing the sign of a Palestinian school in the Old City of Jerusalem, pledging to shut down the institution for using a Palestinian Authority curriculum.
Sukkot holds up what he claims is a textbook from the Islamic Orphanage Secondary School and points to the Palestinian flag on its cover, claiming that it’s a flag of a “non-existent country.”
Sukkot pledges to close down the school, though, it’s unclear whether he has the authority to do so, especially given that the Knesset is going into its final recess in the coming days before elections.
