Channel 2 shows footage of Palestinian youths dancing and cheering in the Jabalya refugee camp in the Gaza Strip, minutes after a heavy rocket barrage was launched at the greater Tel Aviv area.
Hamas says it launched 10 rockets. Six were intercepted by Iron Dome, according to Israeli media. There are no reports of Israelis injured.
The rockets were aimed across central Israel, triggering alarms in the Modi’in area for the first time since this round of conflict erupted.
Channel 2 says Hamas television is claiming that many Israelis were injured in the latest salvoes, falsely citing ostensible Israeli media reports to this effect.
Analyst Ehud Ya’ari says Hamas TV in Gaza was showing Channel 2’s live broadcasts at the time of the rocket attacks, hoping to see its rockets causing major impact in Israel.
Help us report truthfully on social media
As a multimedia journalist, my job is to take the quality, fact-based journalism produced by The Times of Israel newsroom and make it accessible across every platform — from Instagram posts to podcasts to short-form videos.
This is how many, especially young people, consume news these days. But misinformation is rampant on social media. Our team at ToI produces accurate, responsible short-form reporting on Israel and the Jewish world.
If you believe in the importance of factual social media journalism, please consider joining our reader support group, The Times of Israel Community. Your financial support is essential to sustain responsible multimedia reporting.
