Turkish official denies military buildup at Syrian base, says Israel ‘inventing pretexts’ to bomb neighbors

A Turkish official denies reported Israeli claims that Ankara is seeking to establish a military presence at a Syrian airbase near Idlib, which was struck overnight, reportedly by the IDF.

“There was no Turkish presence at the airbase. Israel is inventing pretexts to bomb neighboring countries and destabilize the region,” a Turkish official tells the Axios news site.
