Speaking at a London rally against antisemitism, UK Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch vows to confront rising antisemitism in Britain, saying the country “must always be a sanctuary for Jewish people.”

Speaking to a crowd of thousands attending the event near the residence of Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Badenoch says she was not there to “do politics” but to honor a promise to stand with British Jews amid growing fears regarding extremism and hate. She condemns “the hatred of Jews” and criticizes those who, she said, were afraid to name or challenge it.

Badenoch links antisemitism in Britain to a broader surge in global extremism, recalling Islamist attacks and the Hamas-led October 7, 2023, atrocities in Israel.

“The people who want us to be afraid must never be allowed to win,” she says. She pledges to fight for “a Britain where Jews can go to school and worship freely.”
