The government told the High Court of Justice on Sunday that the Haaretz daily “expresses support for the enemy during war,” in response to a petition against its decision to cease communication with the newspaper.
Haaretz “harms IDF soldiers and war efforts, calls for refusal to serve, and ccuss the IDF of genocide, defames the state, defames the Zionist enterprise as a whole, calls for the imposition of international sanctions against the state and its elected officials, backs the International Criminal Court in The Hague, and harms the image and standing of the State of Israel in the world,” according to the government petition.
“The Haaretz newspaper and the articles published in it, including in English, serve many Israel-haters and antisemites on a daily basis,” it said.
