Iran names new Quds Force chief after Soleimani killed
Add ToI as a Preferred Source on GoogleBrig. Gen. Esmail Ghaani has been named the next commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps’ expeditionary Quds Force by Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, following the killing of its previous leader Qassem Soleimani, Iranian media reports.
Ghaani served as the deputy commander of the unit from 1997 until Soleimani’s death in a US strike overnight.
